Making Argentine better is as easy as ABC!

ABC’s mission is to animate the gifts and dreams of Argentine’s individuals and institutions to restore belonging and wholeness to our neighborhood.

Animate – to bring to life, to set in motion – It is our goal to discover and unleash the assets and dreams that are already here hidden in our neighborhood.

Gifts – We believe that Argentine already has everything we need in order to be a healthy neighborhood, but that currently we’re only using a small fraction of our neighborhood’s capacity.

Dreams - It is our goal to make Argentine residents not recipients of services or pawns in someone else’s vision for Argentine but actors in creating a new future for our neighborhood.

Individuals and institutions – We believe that in order to have a neighborhood characterized by belonging and wholeness, we need the gifts, experiences, resources, and relational networks of every individual, institution, business, and church in Argentine.  It is our goal to instill the belief that our safety and success is dependent on the success of everyone.

Restore – Argentine was once a thriving neighborhood where people generally knew one another and trusted one another.  We believe that urban problems, like the ones Argentine faces, are at their core, symptoms of a breakdown in community.  It is our goal to restore that sense of community.

Belonging – We believe that community is, at its heart, about the experience of belonging.  It’s the sense that we’d rather be here and live in this neighborhood rather than anywhere in the world because we feel connected to one another as creators and co-owners of Argentine.

Wholeness –We believe that a great neighborhood has a sense of wholeness defined by healthy, flourishing relationships.  It’s our goal to nurture a neighborhood characterized by relational, emotional, educational, economic, cultural, and spiritual vibrancy.

ABC’s vision: Argentine is a diverse neighborhood where locals come together to celebrate, to resolve their own problems, and to create a shared future in restorative action and community.

• Promote and sponsor community events to instill pride and create social prosperity
• Listening to dreams and issues important to residents via town hall meetings
• Identifying gifts and assets of local individuals and institutions through asset mapping
• Leverage local abilities and resources to create a shared future together
